MickaCoo Employs Director
Dear Friends of MickaCoo,
MickaCoo's Advisory Committee is thrilled to announce that as of August 1, 2012, Elizabeth Young has been officially hired as the Executive Director of MickaCoo Pigeon & Dove Rescue.
Those of you who know Elizabeth are aware of how integral Elizabeth is to the organization. Recognizing the plight of King pigeons in animal shelters, then establishing a thriving foster and adopter network, Elizabeth has worked tirelessly for years to save the lives of these gentle birds.
Elizabeth is not only MickaCoo's founder, but its heart and soul; each of us owe her a debt of gratitude for the many ways she has touched our lives. Unfortunately, one cannot live on gratitude alone. By bringing Elizabeth on as a paid employee (albeit at a very modest salary that doesn't fairly reflect the amount of time she puts in), MickaCoo has been able to secure her continuing services.
Under Elizabeth's guidance, MickaCoo saved more than 500 domestic pigeons and doves, including over 300 in the last year. We are grateful to Mickaboo Companion Bird Rescue for giving us our start, to Community Initiatives for acting in the role of fiscal sponsor as our organization has grown, and most of all, to all the volunteers and adopters who help save lives each and every day.
Let's continue this life-saving labor of love: adopt, foster, volunteer, donate, and spread the word!
Sincerely,
MickaCoo Advisory Committee
Cheryl Dickinson, Chair
Margie Gear, Co-Vice Chair
Clare Malone Prichard, Co-Vice Chair
