Tux
Tux is a very cute little black and white Birmingham Roller that was found injured as a stray on Geneva in SF on 9/28. He was taken to SFACC where he was named Tux by a volunteer. Efforts to reach his owner (traced through his band) were unsuccessful. Fellow pigeon rescuer and MickaCoo volunteer Cheryl and I picked him (?) up on 10/8 when I brought him home as a foster.
Tux experienced some sort of injury that left him limping on his left leg and unable to fly. His appetite is good and he has been convalescing in my kitchen counter pigeon hospital for over a week. Finally, his leg is less painful and he's walking better and on 10/15, for the first time, he opened his wings and tried a little hop. He gained only a couple of inches of altitude but he is making progress and I believe will make a full recovery in time.
He's had company while recovering, including runny-nose squeaker Lollipop and "bumble cankles" Francis. When Tux is feeling well enough, he'll join the other pigeons in the coop and be available for adoption. Please contact me at AdoptKings@gmail.com or visit www.MickaCoo.org for more info.
