Freddy
I got an e-mail from SFACC on Friday 9/17 that said-
We have a thin king pigeon with an old wound on the leg, thin feathers on the head, and not eating well. He is strong but the report of not eating has me worried. His ID is A290062.
Freddy needs a forever home. He'd prefer an outdoor aviary and pigeon friends to life as a pet. Please e-mail me at AdoptKings@gmail.com to help Freddy.

Mickaboo volunteer Virginia was going to be picking up chickens and roosters and a chukar from SFACC on Saturday morning and handing them off to Mickaboo volunteer Martha in the South Bay who in turn was driving them further south to a rescuer who would help them find homes and so I imposed the additional favor of picking this bird up and dropping him off with me along the way and so Freddy, as I named him, was saved.
Freddy arrived thin but feisty and not at all interested in human friendship. The feather loss is most likely from being picked on by other young pigeons while in an over-crowded cage in a live food market waiting to be butchered as squab.
Since his arrival, he's been eating great and doing well. His missing feathers are growing back in. I think that alone in a small cage at the shelter, Freddy was depressed and scared and was giving up. Here he is feisty as hell.
