Bo
Went to SFACC on Sunday afternoon to check on the king pigeons and worm and spray them if needed, fingers crossed that all were healthy because I'm full!
Of course, a couple of the eleven (!!!) king pigeons they had were sick and I brought them home. This one, found as a stray on 12/30 at the intersection of Avalon and La Grande in SF, is young- just 4-5 weeks old, too young to tell gender. I've named him Bo. He's one of those squeakers with a beak shaped like a shovel and so, until I know differently, he's a he.
I kept him upstairs the first 24 hours to see how he was doing and have since moved him downstairs to convalesce with the other pigeon patients. At first, flightless racing cock Frankie was hassling him a little but Bo learned that, while he can fly, Frankie can't.
Bo is feeling better and putting on weight and is available for adoption.
