Twinkle

I got this message from an SFACC volunteer-

Happy holidays to you! I hope you had a merry Christmas! Just wanted to say hi and let you know yet another baby king pigeon came in yesterday to ACC. He is soooo cute! His name is Twinkle. He is super feisty and looks sick, he's fluffed up and dirty : (

MickaCoo volunteer Cheryl picked her up from the shelter within an hour from the time I posted the message calling for help. When she got Twinkle home, she was too weak to stand and so starved she was no longer able to self-feed.

Cheryl hand fed and watered and medicated her and set her up on a heating pad. The next morning, she dropped her off at my house for continued care while she was at work.

Despite our best efforts, she died today, cradled in Cheryl's loving hands. Twinkle is loved and missed.
