Tiptoes

Tiptoes, a feral pigeon, was rescued eight years ago by a bird-lover (and now Mickaboo volunteer). When found, he was emaciated and weak, having survived a wing-injury but left unable to fly or forage adequately. Until 11/18/09, he lived in his rescuer's aviary where he was one of the biggest birds and was a bully if the little flighted birds came within reach.

Now he's come to live as a foster in my pigeon coop where, compared to all the king pigeons, he's one of the smallest birds. He is now very well-mannered.




Tiptoes loves to bathe, not only in the birdbath, but also in the hose spray when I'm cleaning out the coop. He doesn't care whether the nozzle is set to shower or jet and will happily bathe in the spray as long as I clean up.



Tiptoes is an unreleasable, flightless, mature (8+ years old), male feral pij, currently single, and available for adoption. He needs a home where he can get around and participate in bird society even though he can't fly (meaning perches and ledges are within reach and laddered up).
