Miya
Miya was an extremely sick baby king pigeon rescued from SFACC on 4/30.

And he was a very brave baby.

His breathing was terribly compromised by very aggressive respiratory infection.

Miya was initially treated with antibiotics and nebulization but on 5/12, his breathing was so bad and he was so weak that a MickaCoo volunteer helping at the Garage Sale Fundraiser left to drive him back to Dr. Sanders at Wildwood Vet Clinic where he was hospitalized, in oxygen, for almost a week (at a discounted cost of more than $1000).
When Miya was discharged to my care on 5/17, he was to have the support of my late mother's oxygen concentrator.

But it failed and Miya was without supportive oxygen for almost 24 hours that it took me to get another. In that time, Miya lost 90 grams (25% of his body weight) just from expending so much effort to breathe. Despite being on multiple antibiotics.

Once I had gotten the alternate concentrator and Miya had a night with oxygen, he rallied a bit and showed a little energy which made a whole lot of people very happy.
But Miya's condition worsened rather than improved after that, even with the constant O2.

On May 25th, after an incredibly epic battle to survive, baby king pigeon Miya died.
Baby Miya is profoundly missed and will never be forgotten.
