Teddy
Teddy is an adult king pigeon found as a stray in SF on 12/23 and taken to SFACC where she (?) waited in vain to be adopted. I wormed and sprayed her on 1/3 and continued my efforts to negotiate another home (temporary or forever) for her and the 12* other kings at the shelter and facing euthanasia this week.
Their lives were saved when a long-distance approved adopter paid to have the flock of eight kings at Marin Humane Society (now healthy and recovered from their ordeals on the streets as strays) shipped to his home in Georgia and the Marin Humane Society in turn agreed to take in more king pigeon refugees from SFACC. (*Of the 13 kings, 2 have been adopted, 4 sick ones are now in foster care and 7 are being fostered at Marin Humane Society where they are available for adoption.)
With the help of king pigeon rescuer and MickaCoo volunteer Cheryl, on 1/10 we were able to box up and transport nine kings to MHS but, once there, decided that two - Rio and Teddy, weren't well enough for flock life and needed individual care instead.
