May 2010 Rescue Updates
Went to SFACC on 5/27 to check on their pigeon population and they had ZERO!!! Got so excited, I took pix of the empty cages!!! And of some of the lovely volunteers!
Lots and lots going on!
Pablo and Jasper were adopted and are now living a very pampered life with adopter Carol in Denver.
The Filoli Flower Show was amazing and MickaCoo volunteers talked to hundreds of folks about the loveliness of king pigeons.
MickaCoo has a new Dove Coordinator- Chris Wetra- whom I'm THRILLED to welcome aboard!
Mickaboo's top secret underground quailroad division Chickaboo (fearlessly led by Martha) is helping a couple of roosters, a bunch of quail and a duck named Fig get out of animal shelters and make their way to new homes via transport to a rescuer and seeing that one of the quail, who has an injured foot, gets the vet and foster care he needs.
We'll be at an Adoption Fair at the Humane Society of Silicon Valley in Milpitas Saturday 5/15.
There are two homing pigeons at SJACS in need of rescue and that MickaCoo is too full to take in. The blue bar is likely a hen, was hatched in 2004, has a broken wing and is unwanted by her owner. The white homer is unbanded, very dirty and also appears to have a wing injury. He has deformed but functional feet. If you can help either one or both of these birds, please contact me at AdoptKings@gmail.com.
