MORE FOSTERS & ADOPTERS URGENTLY NEEDED!
MickaCoo Pigeon & Dove Rescue is over capacity with 93 birds on our foster care caseload. Currently we only have true capacity for 75 and so we are having to turn new birds in need away, something we are extremely reluctant to do since we are the safety net for these vulnerable, unreleasable birds!

And, despite the improving efforts of Bay Area shelters to promote and adopt out the pigeons and doves in their care, their adoptions are very slow and new birds are coming in faster than they are being placed. Peninsula Humane Society, SF Animal Care & Control and Marin Humane Society all have lots of beautiful domestic, unreleasable pigeons and doves in need of homes.
Normally, MickaCoo has been the safety valve for these underserved and overlooked birds- able to take in more when the shelters are running out of space. I am extremely concerned that, if we do not develop some significant adoptions in the coming weeks, that shelters will once again resort to killing healthy birds for lack of adopters.
Please, please, please- help us help these birds. Become a foster volunteer. Help us to fundraise. Help us to inspire and increase adoptions. Here are links to explore and share-
