We Did It!
Oh my goodness, I don't even know where to begin! Yes! We accomplished our goal and landed in the top 15 in our category to qualify to win $10K from Pepsi. Our project is now undergoing a verification process by Pepsi and provided we pass (and we expect to, notification due 10/23ish), we will be granted $5K sometime in November and, if all project requirements are satisfied, the other $5K in March 2012. After competing in the Pepsi Challenge in January, June and then again in September, we had invested so much time and energy, we really had to win! (Adoptions are down in pretty direct correlation with the time I spent on the Pepsi effort instead of developing adopters. Stay tuned for that story.)
And we did win- thanks to you! And so MickaCoo is $10K more sustainable than it was. I truly thank you all for your help. It took A LOT of help!
Thank you all SO MUCH for your daily voting and texting and tweeting and cross-posting and soda-cap collecting and power-code entering and helping MickaCoo to be a finalist for a $10K Pepsi grant!
There were also incredibly generous recyclers like Thomas of J & S Recycling and Moses and Ben who helped us with hundreds of caps! (I think Moses said it best when he said, "It feels good to help.") Without your incredibly altruistic support we would never have won. Thank you!
And there was a lot of hard-core, above-and-beyond supporters who I'm not even going to try and list (because I would surely miss somebody) but you know who you are and I truly thank you for helping me and MickaCoo SO MUCH through what was a ridonculously and inordinately challenging effort!
And there was a whole squad of volunteers- all over the country!- that were collecting power codes every way they could to support MickaCoo. Thank you!
And we still wouldn't have been able to win if it wasn't for the incredible support of a BIG team of animal rescue Pepsi partners who were extremely generous and worked tirelessly to help us win. Thank you!
