YOUR Help is to Needed to Reach More Adopters!
When I started saving king pigeons from being euthanized at SF Animal Care & Control three and a half years ago, I was told that they were unadoptable and that what I was trying to do was impossible.
And it seems like it is impossible until they get adopted.
With your help and support and contacts and encouragement, MickaCoo Pigeon & Dove Rescue has placed 400 pigeons and doves in WONDERFUL homes.
It would be a lot easier to just give them to anyone who's interested but we don't do that. We've seen from all the millions of surrendered pets what happens when adopters are anything less than completely committed to providing a forever home. MickaCoo doesn't want to play any part in that sad cycle. And so far, we've been extremely fortunate.
We need more of your help to reach more adopters. We have lots and lots of beautiful, innocent and easy to care for pigeons in need of homes. Our foster system is full up. The physical spaces aren't all full (though some of the aviaries are at the maximum uncrowded capacity that we'll allow) but the people-power that it takes to support and sustain almost 300 foster birds is full up. I'm having to suggest alternatives to would be surrenderers and there aren't a whole lot of good ones for pigeons.
We have whole aviaries full of beautiful couples like Rex & Sam and Faith & Scout who need adopters.
We can help people create their own backyard aviaries or to set up indoor homes for rescued pigeons and doves.
So please- take a minute to send this post to all your friends and family and colleagues and let them know that they can be a part of something very special. They can create a little haven for some innocent birds who will bring them lots of joy. MickaCoo adopters are very happy with their birds. They are easy to care for. They are guileless, charismatic and gentle. They are beautiful. MickaCoo screens and approves long-distance adopters and ships pigeons within the Continental US so please- send this to everyone you know. And reach out and talk with those folks that you know are already half-ready to create an aviary. Now would be the perfect time. We NEED adopters.
