Special Couples Available for Long-term Foster and/or Adoption
MickaCoo Pigeon & Dove Rescue has lots of amazing birds in foster care. Here are just a few of our special mated pairs that are in need of wonderful homes (either long-term foster or forever).
Sunny & Joey are homing pigeons. They are an adorable and tame couple that need to have their own space, whether indoors or outside, separated other pigeons. Joey has an imperfectly healed broken wing that prevents him from being able to fly. Sometimes, he will jump up and land upside down on his back and is unable to right himself which makes him vulnerable to be picked on if he lives with pigeons other than his devoted mate, Sunny.
Currently, I foster them in my over-bird-full home in a large dog kennel and open the door every morning so that they can have out of cage time which they need and enjoy. Joey quickly learned how to use the ramps I provided so that he could get down from and back up to their table top kennel. Their quiet explorations around the house always make me smile. They are a lovely, easy pair of very sweet pigeons and they need either long-term foster or adoption.

Pigeons and doves are quiet, sweet and easy pets. They are low-maintenance, self-sufficient and very charming. They don't bite or chew things and they excel at the leisure arts (flirting, napping, bathing, preening, snuggling). Pigeons and doves are calm and easy going and do fine with other pets and children (when common sense is used).

Sammy & Cassie are an adorable pair of white, ringneck doves. Sammy lived for a couple of years alone in a small cage in a dark room before coming to MickaCoo and, while he was very excited and happy to finally be in the company of lots of other birds, he really wanted a mate.
Luckily for him, his foster mom took in a lonely little dove hen from the SJ animal shelter and it was love at first sight for both of them!
These two are tame and sweet and ask for very little. They would enjoy living indoors in a nice flight cage with some daily out-of-cage time for fun and exercise or in a nice predator & rodent-proof aviary. Please contact me at AdoptKings@gmail.com for more info.

Sunny also has an imperfectly healed wing injury and has slightly deformed feet. She can fly a little and walks fine, just a little crookedly.

This adorable pair of roller pigeons are flighted and sassy and lots of fun. Rascal (the black bird) is very tame and an expert at wearing pants. I believe she is a hen but she has yet to lay eggs. She and Derby have a very close relationship and spend all their time hanging out together. They are a very loving and romantic and playful couple and would make an amazing pair of pets, either flying around in your house of living outdoors in an aviary. Derby hasn't yet learned the art of pij pants wearing but could do that in a day.

MickaCoo recommends a high quality pigeon feed, grit, chopped veggies or greens be fed to pigeons and high quality dove feed or Roudy Bush pellets, grit, chopped veggies or greens be fed to doves. Pigeon feed (below on the left) includes a high ratio of peas and corn and dove feed (below on the right) includes more millet, canola seed and safflower. Pigeons and doves eat the entire seed (unlike parrots that husk most seeds) and they are easy to feed and make great pets for vegans.
For pigeons, MickaCoo recommends a double-flight or extra large dog-crate as an indoor home with daily out-of-cage time.

Please help us to find great homes for these and our many other wonderful pigeons and doves. Share this with everybody you know. I really need help to reduce the number of foster birds that I am caring for and I will gladly help folks to find just the right pet birds for their family.
Thank you!
