So close...

MickaCoo Pigeon & Dove Rescue is still too full but we're so close to being viable and sustainable. If we only had a couple more foster homes and a slightly higher rate of adopters vs. rescues, this "impossible" effort would be succeeding (without ruining me in the process).

In my overfull pigeon coop, I have 7 of my own adopted rescue pigeons:

Plus I'm housing a pair that have been adopted but who's forever home isn't quite ready:

And I'm fostering 3 sick or special needs birds and their mates:

Which means that I have 15 fosters when I really only have room for 8.

There are at least 2 (that I know of) waiting in Bay Area shelters to come into MickaCoo:

And 48 doomed-to-die pigeons have been placed by MickaCoo into wonderful, caring forever homes so far this year- an average of almost 10 per month!

So please- step up to help. It isn't hard and just a couple more foster homes would make a world of difference. These are lovely birds and they get adopted! It just takes a little time and a few folks to save their lives.

Right now, MickaCoo really needs help for:

Pepe- a young racing pigeon that suffered a head injury and needs a quiet place to continue his recovery.



And it would be a huge help to me if a couple of the too-many fosters I have (like Slim & Penny and/or Giovanni & Nina) could be relocated into another foster home or two while they wait for their forever home to come along.

A dog crate like this makes a great foster home for one or two pigeons.
