Pierre UPDATE 4/25/10

These first three pictures were taken yesterday evening by my friend and fellow MickaCoo volunteer Cheryl. I was surprised at how much better Pierre's leg looks already. It was much more swollen and angry looking on Friday morning when I brought him home than it was Saturday evening. The third picture shows me grimacing with the conflicted thoughts of, "Smile, you're getting your picture taken and ouch, put this poor little dove back on his soft fleecy."







These pictures were taken this morning and I feel like Pierre has turned a corner and is feeling better. The first shows him sunbathing.



And he's got a lot of preening to do...



And here he's test driving his new but still hobbled leg, bearing (as far as I can tell) all his weight on his good leg at first...



And taking a good look at what the hell we've done to him...



And then, a few minutes later, he stands again and here I believe he's bearing some weight on his formerly-splayed leg.



And maybe even more here...



Now he and Piper are just chillin together, enjoying a nice sunny day.
