Pierre UPDATE 4/21/10
Pierre is stable and doing well! Dr. Speer very kindly sent me these pictures and says, "Pierre seems to be feeling better - we have removed the "surfboard" splint, and he is now in hobbles and kind of already hobbling along..."
Here, Pierre is on the left and his clubby-foot friend Piper is on the right. Her right foot is imperfect but functions well (she can stand, walk, fly and perch) and so no correction is planned for Piper.
I'm going out to see them tomorrow. I feel like Pierre must be very surprised and have a lot of questions about what we've done to his paddle leg. I think he's really going to love having a working leg once he gets used to it (and it stops hurting).
We got two more donations yesterday (thank you!!!) and you can click here if you want to donate towards Pierre's vet bill.
