Help! (And P.S. There is no sanctuary- only volunteers who foster and adopters)
Help. That's about all I and the many homeless pigeons who need rescue have to say. Help. And thank you for all the care you've already shown.
MickaCoo Pigeon & Dove Rescue, a nonprofit organization that is run entirely by volunteers, is full up. We have more than 50 pigeons and doves in our foster care. I personally have 17 fosters.
Sometimes I hear reference to "the sanctuary" as in, "These pigeons won't be euthanized because they'll go to the sanctuary." That's incorrect. There is no sanctuary. There are only MickaCoo volunteers like myself who take in foster birds and care for them until they are adopted into forever homes. If there aren't enough volunteers willing to commit to the long-term foster care that is required, birds will (and do) get euthanized.
Today I went to SFACC and they have TWELVE pigeons in need of homes.
