MickaCoo full, shelters full...
This homeless baby king pigeon is one of many. There are at least 3 pigeons at SJACS, 3 at SVACA, 5 at MHS, 2 at SFACC and, since MickaCoo is full up with 19 fosters and only one adoption (of 8 pigeons thankfully!) since July, we're officially entering a homeless pigeon crisis.
These birds are domestic and cannot be "set free". When they are, they just stand around looking for their food dish while the hawks and dogs and cats and cars kill them. The LUCKY ones end up in the shelters where, if they aren't adopted, they are euthanized (just like 8 million cats and dogs every year in this country).
They need a good home in an aviary. They won't ask for much and they probably won't give you much except a little more grace and beauty and compassion in your world.
If you'd like that, contact me at AdoptKings@gmail.com.
Thanks.
