March 2009 Rescue Updates
March 6th
Country, widow of the sweet and amazing Tank, seems to be doing well. She's being courted by various (married) pigeons in the loft and, having had such an amazing husband, doesn't seem much impressed but she does take it all in stride.
Mocha and Smokey, who I believe are siblings, are now also a mated couple. Mocha had hooked up with Slim but then Art and then Charlie Brown White Socks took him away. Smokey has plenty of game but got no play so now they're a couple and taking really good care of their fake eggs.
The cocks sit on the (fake!) eggs mostly during the day and the hens in the evenings. Sparks and Gus are pictured below.
Phase 3 of The Great King Care-A-Van of Spring 2009 launches on March 9th when Tony & Doll are shipped to their new forever home in Indiana and Gatsby goes home to Ohio!

February 25th
You've got to see MickaCoo's first fundraiser (usually I just beg)!
The Great King Care-A-Van of Spring 2009 has entered Phase 2 and our first shipped bird arrived safe and sound. Meet Journey- a true pioneer and no longer homeless.
Pulled nine real eggs from five pairs of my foster king pigeons today... replaced them with fake wooden eggs. Pigeon birth control. Please don't breed or buy- until there's a home for all of them, adopt.
