Rescue Me

This whole pigeon rescue thing snuck up on me. I never intended to become a pigeon rescuer nor to adopt pigeons as pets nor to spend so much time, energy and money on pigeons. The SFACC kings needed somebody and I guess I needed to be that somebody. So now I've got a loft full of pigeons that need great homes and adoptions have slowed to nothing. I attend Pet Adoption Fairs (like the Marin Pet Adopt-A-Thon, the SF Pet Pride Day) and will be at the San Jose Home for the Holidays Adopt-A-Thon this Saturday with Santino and Rocky (or maybe Willow). I network through Avian Vets and Pet & Feed Stores. I receive a lot of support as a result of being a part of Mickaboo and Andy's Pet Shop & Adoption Center, Pigeon Talk and SFACC. I post on craigslist throughout Northern California and pretty much pimp king pij where ever I go.

And please forward this post along to everybody you know in Northern California. You'd be surprised how many folks actually really love pigeons and spreading the word reallly helps. Talk to your parents and grandparents- many had pigeons when they were kids and would love to have a couple in a nice little backyard aviary.
