Baby king pigeon Maya was extremely lucky to be spotted and netted by WildCare's Kelle K. while she was out tracking sick gulls at San Francisco's Pier 94.

And Maya was as happy as blind baby pigeon Jenny to have a new and very special friend.

Sweet as Maya is with Jenny, Maya is an aviary bird who wants nothing whatsoever to do with people. He is a very wild-spirited little king. Jenny though, because of her blindness, needs a special home (she wouldn't be safe in a flock) and so, once Jenny has a new BFF, Maya will be outside full-time.

Maya is making new friends with the latest rescued baby kings- Cloud & Sugar.
