SQUAB PRODUCTION- ANOTHER CRUEL DELICACY

Thank you to Harvest Home Animal Sanctuary for publishing this article and for giving us permission to repost here. Scroll down to see squab. A baby pigeon is one of the sweetest, gentlest and most vulnerable creatures imaginable. Eating squab is like eating a puppy.

This king pigeon squab was found as a stray, sick with salmonella, and rescued by MickaCoo from SFACC. Her name is Friday. She has made a full recovery and has even gained the ability to fly, something her vet thought might not be possible.

Here's a video of baby Friday that her foster mom Cheryl made. Baby pigeons, squab, are also called squeakers.

This squab, named Kizzie, was found as a stray and rescued from SFACC. His sister Izzy died at the vet where they were both rushed for severe respiratory infections. Kizzie survived and made a full recovery.

This is Butters.
