Tiger, Lena & Lupe

Three unreleasable feral pigeons were owner-surrendered on 8/8 to SFACC by someone who says he had them for 10 years. He also says they are two males and a female but so far it seems like it may be two females. They came in unnamed and so I'm calling them Tiger (the blue bar cock with the over-grown beak), Lena (his mate) & Lupe (the blue check with the too-long toe nails). (Scroll down for video.)

On 8/18, I spent some time with them in the shelter's "Get Acquainted" room in order to assess their needs, relationships and people-skills.

I got some special help from the SF SPCA Summer Campers and staff who were delivering custom made cat toys to SFACC.

These pigeons aren't super people-focused and I think they would be happiest in an aviary with other pigeons (where Lupe could find her own mate). Currently they are living in two side-by-side parrot cages at SFACC.
